With Croatia’s accession to the European Union on 1 July 2013, Rijeka joined our Cities for Sports-Network as well. We are very happy to present you the third largest city in Croatia:
Rijeka is with a population of approximately 128.000 not only the third largest city in Croatia, but also the most important Croatian harbour and the industrial, administrative, cultural, sports and university centre of the region. The Department of Sports and Technical Culture performs tasks related to the city public needs in sports and technical culture, manages and controls funds allocated from the city budget, provides professional support, education and management information system in segments related to sports and technical culture needs. It is also in charge of maintenance and construction of facilities important for sports and technical culture development in Rijeka.
